Now, pat yourself on the back and share your positive attitude with everyone you meet – because they could use a little uplifting too.
If you’re like the most of people, however, you will likely say “yes” to at least two or more of these rules – that’s two ‘yes’ said can be many already. It’s now time for you to become more positive and take more responsibility for your own feelings.
Rule 1: Be Committed
Make a positive commitment to yourself that you’ll do your very best and be all that you can be, realize that you can and will succeed in your business and your life endeavors by never, ever, ever giving up.
By doing it, you alone, have to be enthusiastic about your accomplishments, you have to be proud of yourself, you have to visualize yourself being successful and be proud when you accomplish both short and long-term goals. So commit it and do it now.
Rule 2: Accept Challenges
If you like me – be the owner of your own online business, it can be scary and a bit intimidating at time. It takes guts to leave a 9 to 5 job and start your own online empire. It takes guts to have a dream and to go for it. You are the person ultimately will determine whether your business succeeds or fail; from time to time, you learn from your mistakes and you constantly grow.
Rule 3: Don’t Criticize Yourself
Many times I saw people like to blame and criticize themselves when they made any mistakes, you really don’t need to do that because there is no use criticizing yourself once you’ve made a mistake. Saying, “I should have landed that account or handled that situation differently,” isn’t going to make a difference at all. It’s already happened and if you keep continuing criticize yourself, it’s just going to drain you of your energy and discourage you. So the best thing to do is to just simply learn from your mistakes and move on.
Rule 4: Create Your Own feelings
No one can create feeling for you, you have to create your own feelings and make your own decisions. Other people don’t cause feelings, but they can trigger your emotions and mental habits. It is your job to choose whether to let others (e.g. your clients, customers or prospects) upset you or not, you can choose to become angry or to become frustrated. For me, I will choose happiness!
Rule 5: Be in Control and Don’t Get Distracted
Keep your mind and get all of your energy together to let them focused on the important things, don’t get distracted by other noises. Set goals and priorities for what you want to do and then stick to them until you accomplish. Develop a strategy for dealing with potential problems, when the problems surface, just feel confident in your innate ability and handle them, you shall control your own destiny.
Rule 6: Practice Makes Perfect
No one is perfect in this world, so stop worrying about to get everything right and start to practicing. As human beings, we all make mistakes, when there are mistakes made, accept them as a part of life and then move on. In the mean while, practice your skills, your work and learn as much as you can.
Rule 7: Accept Good Fortune
You’re a great person, you spend a lot of time and put lots of effort into the things you are doing and finally it get you where you are now. Therefore, be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. No matter in whatever the case, don’t feel bad about what you have achieved, don’t associate yourself with negative people or people who try to discourage your efforts. Be happy, be thankful, keep doing what you are doing and knowing that there are even more goodness is coming forth to your way.
Rule 8: Be True to Yourself
It’s good to try to please others, but not at the sake of displeasing yourself. Therefore, make sure that you remember this – everyone has the right to have angry feelings towards things, you don’t have to feel guilty about that, it’s actually can be very healthy if you can recognize that interpersonal conflicts do exist. Probably, according to your own situation and circumstances, you may please some people from time to time but you don’t have to please everyone all the time. So be true to yourself.
Rule 9: Ask For Help
There’s nothing wrong with asking for help. Asking for others help doesn’t mean you are incompetent of doing the work, you’re only a human, you need to treat yourself with kindness, get some help from others when you need it and learn to enjoy the life.
Rule 10: Take a Time Out
Your business will be there and it won’t go anywhere if you take some time off. Thus, don’t worry about the pending projects, everyone needs a break, if you don’t do it, your mental health will surely suffer – and so to your business relationships as well.
Rule 11: Don’t be Afraid to Try
Just because you haven’t tried something new it doesn’t mean that you won’t be good at it. Find opportunities, give yourself permission to try something new and do the best as you can, if you don’t succeed the first time, and then try again. Don’t let “I can’t” be a part of your dictionary.
In conclusion, thinking positively helps you increase your productivity, eliminate stress, and enable yourself to start living and enjoying your new found freedom in whatever you are doing. You can maintain a positive mental attitude and you definitely can become your own biggest fan – your very own cheer leading squad. And you can turn the negatives into positives – or like the saying goes, “turn that frown upside down!”
