Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Did you still remember your childhood’s dreams? Have you meet any of them?

When I was a child, I had a lot of dreams. Such as to do on the stage (yea, I did that already when I was in the school), dream about one day I can travel to different countries to see the world (I went to few countries already) and go to see the Pyramid in the Egypt (this dream has not make yet) etc. I went to meet almost all of those dreams, but they didn’t all come easy. However, my passion takes me to wherever I go :-)

I was born in a big and warm family. But I was growing up with my grandparents and great-grandmother (I will tell you more about her later). They are very nice and kind people, but they are also very strict in lots of things especially my grandfather. Well, one of the things my grandfather behind for me is his teaching and wisdom. He called it a message in a bottle.

I believe every one of us has some sort of dream they want to make real in their childhood, or some sort of passion that they want to tap into.

Randy Pausch, the charismatic young college professor who chronicled his battle with pancreatic cancer in a remarkable speech widely-known as the “Last Lecture,” spoke about his childhood dreams.

“You may not agree with the list but I was there. … Being in zero gravity, playing in the National Football League, authoring an article in the World Book Encyclopedia – I guess you can tell the nerds early. … I wanted to be one of the guys who won the big stuffed animals in the amusement park.”

In the lecture, he spoke of overcoming the obstacles that may seem insurmountable. But Pausch had a novel way of looking at obstacles :

“The brick walls are there for a reason,” he said during his lecture. “The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.”
