This is one of my favorite videos, it looks like a divorce case, how­ever, if you pay atten­tion to the clothes they are wear­ing, you will under­stand it shows the dis­con­nect that adver­tis­ers have with their cus­tomers. It really cap­tures how adver­tis­ers see the world — and how con­sumers are ask­ing for a “divorce”.

It makes me to think in the busi­ness world, what kind of rela­tion­ship mar­keters or busi­ness own­ers want to have with their cus­tomers? Are they want a trans­ac­tional, imper­sonal, tem­po­rary, short-term rela­tion­ship? Rather, they want a rela­tion­ship that’s inti­mate, pas­sion­ate, loyal, and long-term?

Watch it and lis­ten their con­ver­sa­tion care­fully — is that “Adver­tis­ing” lis­ten what his “Con­sumer” says?
