In my previous article, I shared with you 7 tips toward how to get and stay motivated, in today’s article, I am going to share with another 8 more tips, and hope these tips can help you get motivated, stay motivated, and achieve all of your goals.
1. Read About People Who Have Had Success
One of the best ways to get motivated is to read about others who have had success in your field, because reading about other people who are successful will make their goals and stories seem more real to you.
The other reason is if you’re like most people, you can use your visualizing power to visualize yourself being successful. However, along the way especially in the beginning, you probably have hard time in visualizing how you will overcome all the challenges, but by reading about how others faced challenges and overcame them will help you to see how you can do it, too.
2. Don’t Give Up So Easily
It makes sense to quit in some situations. For instance, if you are implementing a new marketing plan for your business, but it turns out to be enormously expensive and generates no profits for you, it may be a good idea to give up on it and try something else. In many other cases, people give up is because there is no good reason to do so, or got discouraged by the things they do.
Well, it’s time to put an end to this, no matter how tired you are, no matter how discouraged you are, don’t give up. If you can’t finish something today, just give yourself a break and finish it up the following days, example.
This might seem like a strange way to get motivated, but it is possibly one of the most effective ways though. Think about this, when you are out of shape and carrying around few extra pounds, how will you feel – feel good or feel bad about yourself? Under this situation, it becomes much easier for oneself to feel worse about him or herself.
Indeed, not exercising can take a serious toll on your self-esteem, it can also make you feel generally lethargic and physiologically uncomfortable, which could give you hard time to focus on your work, your goals, and your personal relationships.
So, get exercising! Even if you don’t shed all of that extra weight, exercise will make you feel happier and less distracted.
4. Improve Your Diet
As with exercise, adhering to a better diet can help to motivate you as well, even if you do nothing else. The reason for this is that improving your diet will regulate your blood sugar, improve your focus, and alleviate any physiological distractions.
With fewer distractions, you will able to bring your talents to bear on any project and you will see better working results; and this will encourage you to work harder on the new projects.
In addition to the direct effects on your productivity, once your diet improved, you will also find that your mood will get improved as well. You may find yourself becoming more optimistic; and less bogged down in the challenges your project presents.
