What is Positive Thinking and How Does it Works

Often time, we heard peo­ple talk­ing about ‘Pos­i­tive Think­ing’, like how pow­er­ful it is and how the pos­i­tive think­ing can change a person’s life and so forth, before putting the pow­ers of pos­i­tive think­ing to work in your per­sonal and pro­fes­sional life, you must first under­stand exactly what pos­i­tive think­ing is.

By def­i­n­i­tion, the word pos­i­tive means deal­ing with mat­ters of fact; expressed clearly, or in a con­fi­dent or peremp­tory man­ner. How­ever, in the con­cept of pos­i­tive think­ing, the word pos­i­tive is meant to sig­nify a man­ner of think­ing: a man­ner that puts empha­sis on pro­cess­ing thoughts in a more desir­able, upbeat way. Pos­i­tive think­ing can be described as the prac­tice of embrac­ing the affir­ma­tive in our thoughts, our feel­ings, our actions, our reac­tions and our speech. Lis­ten to your thoughts, then tell me: “what thoughts are fill­ing your head now? Would you label them as pos­i­tive, or negative?”

Let’s say you are walk­ing down the street with these thoughts. Do you think any­one who is going to meet you would be able to tell you what is in your mind or what you are actu­ally thinking?
