In this rat race, deadline-demanding society, it seems like everyone pushed to run and run everyday beyond oneself own capacity and forgot to take care of one’s health.
Health isn’t just a physical thing, Allah has created mankind and everything (in between the heaven and the earth), you need to truly connect the dots on a daily basis and realize the direct impact your emotions have on your physical health.
When you are not feeling well, naturally, you will think that the problem to your physical illness might because what you have been eating and drinking, or whether you have been exercising and getting enough rest. But sometimes, the deeper part of the problem, the root of it all—stems are from those negative emotions that you permit into your life.
Below these three spiritual tips can destroy any negative emotions in your heart and replace them with happiness and tranquility.
When you feel bad, down, anger, depressed, anxiety, doubt, fear or stress etc, instead of torturing yourself with those negative emotions, get up, make wudu (a process of cleansing oneself in preparation for prayer) and pray 2 rak’ah (a fixed series of ritual movements and formulas (as bowings and recitations) repeated in the daily prayers of Muslims), watch yourself and see the level of your emotions change – you will feel 10 times better afterwards.
If in case pray 2 rak’ah doesn’t make you feel better, then pray another 2 rak’ah and another 2 rak’ah .. until you feel better.
When you salat, you give yourself a chance to directly connect with Allah, who is all-seeing and runs the universe according to a divine plan, who linked success and felicity to humility in prayer. Through prayer, you can acquire a spiritual awareness that you take with you throughout all of life’s endeavors. Prayer purifies the heart, soul and removing the negative thoughts that could harm your health.
Quran is a book that is the word of Allah (God) and there is no doubt about its divinity. The claim is made by no one but Allah Himself.
This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoon (the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained))[Quran Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 2]
And this Quran is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurat (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel)], and a full explanation of the book (i.e. laws, decreed for mankind) – wherein there is no doubt – from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)[Quran Surah Younus, Verse 37]
When you read Quran, don’t just read few lines, but truly immerse yourself in the experience and read as much as you can. After a while, you will notice that you negative emotions are gone and you will feel really calm and relax.
Don’t just read the Quran in the month of Ramadan, form a habit and read it everyday – the book of truth, a complete code of living life and guidance for preparing for the hereafter and it brings ones life out of darkness into light etc.
Al-Khaṭṭābi explains excellently the functions of du’ā’: “The meaning of du’ā’ is the servant’s asking his Lord for His help, and asking His continuous support. Its essence is that a person shows his reliance and need to Allāh, and frees himself from any power or ability to change (any matter by himself). This characteristic is the mark of servitude, and in it is the human submissiveness” (Du’ā’ The Weapon of the Believer by Abu Ammar Yasir Qadhi, p 22)
When making dua, don’t just read the standard duas that you read daily, but truly speak to Allah (SWT) even in your own language, tell him what you want and ask him for help. He listens, he understood, he sees and he knows what you are going through.
Remember, dua is conversation with Allah, it can change a person’s fate, while no action of yours ever can. It is the essence of ibadah or worship. With the power of dua, you can never fail; without it you can never succeed. In the proper scheme of things; dua should be the first and the last resort of the believer.
Life is beyond the law of attraction. Allāh has already written your story and the plots in your lives. You can rise above your emotions. After all, you are not what you feel.
And remember that in good times and in bad, it is Allah’s will for you to be emotionally healthy and constantly at peace.
