Do you remember when was the last time you took 30 minutes out of your day to walk in the park? For me, I remembered – it was last week.
If you can’t remember yours, then make time now to start a new, regular walking routine. Not only will walking improve your fitness, you’ll gain lots of other benefits too.
As you know, walking is a gentle, low-impact exercise that can ease you into a higher level of fitness and health. It is a form of exercise accessible to just about everybody. It’s safe, simple and doesn’t need practice. Walking isn’t as likely to lead to injuries as other types of exercise.
Walking out in the fresh air has always been known as a great way to improve your health and well-being.
A brisk walk boosts circulation, keeps muscles strong, helps you keep up a healthy heart and healthy weight, lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol), raise high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol), lower your blood pressure, cut your risk of or manage type 2 diabetes, and even improves your mood by releasing ‘feel-good’ hormones. All in all, a walk in the park is healthy and allows you to be well.
All it takes to reap these benefits is a routine of brisk walking. It doesn’t get much simpler than that, and you can forget the “no pain, no gain” talk.
But the benefits don’t just end here!
There’s much more to gain from spending 30 minutes walking several times per week.
While you’re walking, you can use this time to boost your brain power, enhance your self-esteem, reduce stress, and focus on improving your life too.
Myself, I like walking, I find every walking time is the ideal time for me to contemplate and focus on what I want from life. It is also help me to enhance health and to focus on self-development.
Each time when I go to walk, I will set my intentions and goals first, and then focus on what it is my wish to change and then use my walk to recite positive affirmations and self-suggestions.
After 30 minutes or so, I feel refreshed and sometime walk can help me work out solutions to challenges or see difficulties from a new perspective.
If you don’t believe me, give it a try, walk every day for a couple of weeks and then see the difference – how the simple walk can make your feel better and how it can change the way you approach life.
Of all the ways to stay fit, walking is the easiest, safest, and cheapest. So don’t wait any longer, walk into a new and better life!
